TRACK HISTORY
Carolina Motorsports Park was developed by a group of enthusiasts and racers from the south east. Joe Hooker and Bob Humphreys played leading roles in getting the project built. Land acquisition was completed in July 1998 with construction starting soon thereafter. The site was built on an old airport, known as “Kershaw Airport”. The track was designed by famed track designer Alan Wilson and the full 2.27 mile road course opened in July 1999. In 2009, Kart track construction began and the kart facility began operation in 2010.
In November of 2019, operation of the facility was taken over by Motorsports Capital. New ownership of the facility was made officially in June 2020.
Our focus is set on providing the park and its’ customers with a top-notch experience that the entire family can enjoy.
